This notice explains what personal information Westinghouse Electrical Testing collects, why we use it, and your rights.

Westinghouse Electrical Testing is the trading name of Westinghouse Electrical Testing Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company no. 17483326. Registered office: 9 Tetley Road, Birmingham B11 3BU. Westinghouse Electrical Testing Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Registration number: ZC259000.
What we collect and why
- Customers and enquiries: your name, contact details, the property address, and any access or tenant contact details you give us. We use these to quote, book, carry out and certify work (legal basis: contract). We also keep certificates and job records as the law and our NICEIC scheme require (legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests).
- Tenants and occupiers: name, phone number and access arrangements given to us by the landlord or agent. We use them only to arrange access (legal basis: legitimate interests).
- Business contacts we write to: work contact details that organisations publish, for example on a housing association’s or managing agent’s website. We use them to send occasional, relevant business-to-business offers by email or post (legal basis: legitimate interests). Every message tells you how to opt out. Reply “no thanks” or email us and we will stop. We keep only a note so that we don’t contact you again.
Our website
Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. It only uses technical cookies it needs to work, such as for security and caching. If you contact us through the website, we use your details only to reply. Links to Google Maps, Google reviews and WhatsApp take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to do the work: our certification body (NICEIC), our certificate software (Castline FormFill), our email and website hosting providers (Google and Hostinger), and our accountant. We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep certificates and job records for at least 6 years after the job, or longer where the certification scheme or the law requires it. We keep business contact details until you opt out, or for 2 years with no contact.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, restrict or object to how we use it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
